Varnesa ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive: - Your email address - Your name - Your profile picture (if available)

We use this information to create and manage your account.

Wardrobe Data

When you use Varnesa, we collect: - Photos of clothing items you upload - Text descriptions of your wardrobe items - AI-generated metadata about your items (colors, materials, style attributes)

This data is essential for providing outfit recommendations.

Voice Data

If you use voice features: - Voice recordings are temporarily processed to understand your requests - Recordings are transcribed and then deleted - We do not store raw audio files long-term

Face Data and Biometric Information

Varnesa does not collect, use, store, or share face data or any biometric information. We do not use facial recognition, face detection, or face mapping technologies. Photos you upload are analyzed solely to identify clothing items and their attributes (such as category, color, material, and style). If a person appears in a photo you upload, no face data is detected, extracted, analyzed, or retained from it, and no facial templates or biometric identifiers are ever created.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the app: - Outfit recommendations you view, select, or reject - Outfits you save - Style preferences inferred from your interactions

This helps us personalize recommendations to your taste.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: - Provide AI-powered outfit recommendations - Build and save outfit combinations - Learn your style preferences over time - Improve our recommendation algorithms - Maintain and improve the app

Third-Party Services

Varnesa uses the following third-party services:

Google Sign-In

• Used for authentication
• Subject to Google's Privacy Policy

OpenAI

• Powers our AI features (image analysis, recommendations, voice transcription)
• The following data is sent to OpenAI's APIs to provide these features: photos of your clothing items and their details (name, color, description), and your styling requests — typed text and voice recordings (voice is transcribed to text and the recording is not retained by us)
• We ask for your consent in the app, before any of this data is sent, the first time you sign in
• OpenAI processes this data on our behalf and does not use data submitted via its API to train its models
• Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy

Cloudflare R2 (image storage)

• Stores your wardrobe photos
• Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy

Supabase (database hosting)

• Hosts your account and wardrobe data
• Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy

Sentry (crash & error reporting)

• Receives crash/error diagnostics and an opaque user identifier only — we do not send your email or other personal details to Sentry
• Subject to Sentry's Privacy Policy

PostHog (product analytics)

• Receives app usage events (screens viewed, features used, session activity) and an opaque user identifier only — we do not send your email, name, or other personal details. Used to understand usage and improve the app; not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored on secure servers
• We use encryption for data transmission
• Access to user data is restricted to essential personnel
• We do not sell your personal information to third parties

Data Retention

• Account data: Retained while your account is active
• Wardrobe items: Retained until you delete them or your account
• Voice recordings: Processed in real-time and not stored long-term
• Usage data: Retained to improve your experience

You can delete your wardrobe items at any time within the app. You can also permanently delete your entire account and all associated data directly in the app: open the account menu and choose Delete account. This irreversibly removes your account, wardrobe items, photos, embeddings, saved outfits, and style profile from our database and image storage. Your Rights

You have the right to: - Access the personal data we hold about you - Request correction of inaccurate data - Request deletion of your data - Export your wardrobe data - Opt out of personalized recommendations

Children's Privacy

Varnesa is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
